Projects’ Track Record

As a regional development agency for the area of Međimurje County we implemented more than 100 projects and prepared many more. Total value of implemented projects until August 2022nd is 83.071.530,80 EUR.
We have experience in preparation and implementation of regional, cross-border and transnational projects in various fields, such as tourism, circular economy, agriculture, ecology, research and innovation.
In terms of international cooperation we have experience with Interreg programmes, i.e. cross-border cooperation with Hungary and Slovenia, transnational programmes Danube, Central Europe, Adrion and Europe, as well as with Horizon 2020, Life and Erasmus+.

MUSEUM OF INTANGIBLE HERITAGE

Overview: The fortification in the Old town in Čakovec was reconstructed and revitalised by opening a new Museum of intangible heritage named Treasury of Međimurje.

Overview: The project identified the best routes or “transition paths” to increase
sustainable legume cultivation and consumption across Europe.

METAL CENTRE ČAKOVEC

Duration: 1/7/2018 – 1/2/2021
Overview: Metal Centre Čakovec was established as an institution with a modern research infrastructure and equipment. Its purpose is to build a scientific research community in order to conduct top research within the metal and related regional industries.

ECOINN DANUBE

Funding: Interreg Danube Transnational Programme
Duration: 1/12/2016 – 31/5/2019
Overview: The project aimed to increase the cooperation of innovation stakeholders in the field of eco-innovations with special emphasis on development and application of ecotechnologies in
the Danube Region.
Budget: 2.126.924,97 EUR

CIRCLE
Field: circular economy
Funding: Interreg Adrion
Duration: 1/2/2020 – 31/12/2022
Overview: The project is focused on increasing and spreading knowledge of practical viability of
circular economy principles applying a collaborative approach within urban areas where the
biggest amount of waste is produced.

BETWEEN TWO RIVERS

Funding: European Regional Development Fund (EFRR)
Duration: 16/7/2018 – 13/3/2021
Overview: The natural heritage visitor infrastructure in Međimurje County was extended with three new locations, the existing visitor management system of the Mura-Drava Regional Park was improved and the attractiveness and educational potential of natural heritage sites in Međimurje
County was increased.

ECOBRIDGE
Field: ecology
Funding: Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Programme 2014. – 2020.
Duration: 1/9/2020 – 31/8/2022
Overview: The project aimed to improve ecological status of natural habitats in the
bordering region of Međimurje and Zala counties, focusing on the formation of special bird protection areas.
Budget: 1.473.925,70 EUR

CYCLESEEING ATTRACTOUR (CSA)
Field: tourism, cross-border collaborations
Funding: Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Cooperation Programme 2014. – 2020.
Duration: 1/9/2020 – 31/7/2022
Overview: Two new tourism attractions were established in the cross-border area – Bike info centre with lookout tower in Štrigova and Eco visitor centre with a bike pump track in Nagykanizsa.
Budget: 1.463.966,46 EUR

ADRIONET

Duration: 1/2/2020 – 31/1/2023
Overview: Objective of the project is to establish a transnational network of ADRION “authentic villages” aimed at tourism promotion, conservation of natural and cultural assets with focus on life quality and well-being of local population.
